Belleville, IL. (3/7/22) Kick-starting the racing season, the Jackson Compaction POWRi Vado Super Sprints began their year-long quest for a championship at state-of-the-art Vado Speedway Park on Military Appreciation Night-Season Opener Night with Mike Archuletta earning the first series feature win of the season and third series victory of his career.
Battling to heat race victories would find Mike Archuletta and Richard Wilbee earn early honors and claim the slight advantages entering the feature event. With Archuletta gaining the pole starting position, second-starting Jesse Baker would fight for the front on the opening laps of the main event.
Joining the leading pair of Archuletta and Baker, Royal Jones would attempt to overtake the leaders while the deep-starting Caleb Saiz and Dylan Harris were on the charge into the top five just past the mid-point of the feature. With the laps winding down, Archuleta would make a statement and drive away from the second placing Royal Jones as Jesse Baker maintained a solid third-place finish. Caleb Saiz and hard-charging Dylan Harris would put on a dazzling display of traffic driving by storming into the top five from starting fifteenth and nineteenth respectively.
