Belleville, IL. (5/29/22) Offering a fast-paced double-header holiday weekend of racing excitement at the picturesque Vado Speedway Park, the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series presented by MVT Services would not disappoint with outstanding action aplenty around the smooth as glass three-eighths-mile oval with John Carney II winning the weekend of feature racing excitement.
Racing from outside of the front row and into the lead, El Paso, TX racer John Carney II would earn his first-ever series feature win Saturday night through outstanding wheelwork over the twenty-five lap feature event. Lorne Wofford would race from starting ninth to earn a runner-up finish over pole-sitter and third-place finisher Brett Becker. Defending series champion Josh Grady would drive starting seventh to finish fourth as Don Grable would charge through the field from thirteenth to a top-five finish.
Sunday would find John Carney II continue his winning ways by cruising by early leader Jesse Baker into the top spot while working through lap traffic with ease for his second straight series victory and completing the weekend sweep. Jesse Baker would maintain a runner-up placement with Caleb Saiz finishing third. Don Grable and Dylan Harris would battle intensely with Grable fourth and Harris rounding out the top five feature finishers for the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series season opener and Night Two of the Memorial Day Weekend Double-Header at Vado Speedway Park.
