Belleville, IL. (5/30/22) Drawing competitors from over the United States and Canada, the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals, hosted by the Midwest Lightning Sprints, would invade Central Missouri Speedway over Memorial Day for a pair of weekend events with Brendon Cascadden winning Preliminary Night as Johnny Boos would reign supreme in winning a Championship Night thriller.
Presented by the POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints in coordination and support from Henchcraft of Canada and Tomy Moreau, the fourth annual POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals would witness a stout field event entries with Josiah King, Shane Sexton, and Trice Roden winning heat races on Saturday as Johnny Boos, Shane Sexton, and Chasity Younger would grab the early racing wins on Sunday.
Night One feature action would find Michigan racer Brendon Cascadden covering the field as California wheelman Shane Sexton placed second and Missouri up-and-comer Trice Roden rounded out the preliminary night podium placements.
Championship Night feature racing would witness outstanding excitement with all-time POWRi Lightning Sprint Divisional Win-Count leader and defending POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprint Series Champion Johnny Boos gaining his first MLS National event victory to add to his amazing twenty-four RMLS wins.
From flipping violently in heat-racing action Sunday, 2021 Nationals Champion Chris Crowder would advance seventeen positions in the feature to place a close runner-up with Night One winner Brendon Cascadden would place third as Canadian talent Tomy Moreau would make an emphatic statement of speed to place fourth with Bobby Layne rounding out the top-five finishers for Championship Night of the 2022 POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals.
