Kole Kirkman Captures POWRi Non-Wing Outlaw Micro KKM Challenge Preliminary Night Two Checkers

Kole Kirkman Captures POWRi Non-Wing Outlaw Micro KKM Challenge Preliminary Night Two Checkers

Marion, IL. (8/23/24) Kole Kirkman would lead all twenty-five laps to win Eibach Racing Preliminary Night Two of the fourth yearly installment of the Keith Kunz Motorsports Challenge presented by Start2Finish TV to claim his first career victory with the POWRi Non-Wing Outlaw Micro League at the outstanding hosting Southern Illinois Raceway.

Going through a strong split-field of thirty-three entries on prelim night Two of the POWRi Non-Wing Outlaw Micro division in the KKM Challenge would find Brian Carber set the quick qualifying time with a lap of 10.041 seconds. Brody Mclaughlin, Grayson Springer, Mack Leopard, and Russ Disinger would each emerge victorious in heat racing action with Gavin Miller, Kole Kirkman, and Johnny Boland all earning wins in qualifier competitions as Autumn Criste would gain the semi-feature win.

Flying onto the smooth Southern Illinois Raceway surface for Eibach Racing Preliminary Night Two feature racing for the opening night of the Keith Kunz Motorsports Challenge presented by Start2Finish TV would see high-point qualifier Jeffrey Newell battle outside front-row contender Kole Kirkman as the green flew with Kole Kirkman holding the front of the field by .oo4 over Justis Sokol on the opening lap with Jeffrey Newell, Brian Carber, and Johnny Boland all staying close inside the early contending top five as caution bunched the field back together on lap two.

Restarting under an Honest Abe’s Choose Cone restart, low-line firing Kole Kirkman would continue to show the point of the field as Justis Sokol and Jeffrey Newell battled behind with Brian Carber, Johnny Boland, Gavin Miller, Russ Disinger, Cruz Dickerson, Greyson Springer, and Brecken Reese running inside the top ten.

Continuing the rapid pace up front would find Kole Kirkman protecting the lead from Justis Sokol as Johnny Boland moved into a podium placement around the mid-race point with Jeffrey Newell and Brian Carber maintaining a top-five contention.

Separating from the field by over a two-second lead, Kole Kirkman would appear to be in a different gear as lap traffic began to come into the picture with Johnny Boland, Justis Sokol, Jeffrey Newell, and Brian Carber bunched back together after a lap twenty-one caution.

Single-file restarting with less than five laps remaining would find Kole Kirkman holding steady up front for his first career POWRi Non-Wing Outlaw Micro victory as Johnny Boland would finish in the closely contended second spot from starting fourth with Justis Sokol finalizing the podium placements.

“We went to work after the qualifier and made the car really good to where I was able to put the car anywhere,” said Kole Kirkman in the Southern Illinois Raceway victory lane for Preliminary Night Two of the Indiana KKM Challenge. Adding, “The last two weeks have been awesome from winning last week to locking into the $10K race tomorrow, this place is going to be fun”.

Driving from starting eighth, Russ Disinger would place in the fourth and final Saturday lock-in as Jeffrey Newell rounded out the top-five finishers in the POWRi Non-Wing Outlaw Micro League feature in Eibach Racing Preliminary Night Two of the Keith Kunz Motorsports Challenge presented by Start2Finish TV at Southern Illinois Raceway.
