Belleville, IL. (11/17/24) Hitting the smooth racing surface of Vado Speedway Park for the final night of 2024 competition action, the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series would headline the $10-to-Win POWRi High Desert Nationals presented by Harris Kendrick Motorsports as Caleb Saiz would find the winning formula on the final lap to take his third series checkers of the season in the increased payday feature.
Opening the final night of yearly racing at state-of-the-art Vado Speedway Park on Saturday with thirty-five entries would witness Lorne Wofford, Brekton Crouch, Scott Bogucki, and Aaron Reutzel, each notch heat racing wins with Carson Bolden and Tye Mihocko gaining the semi-feature checkers.
Soaring into the season finale of the action-packed feature racing would find high point qualifier Lorne Wofford grab the lead in the thrilling POWRi High Desert Nationals Night Two opening pair of laps at Vado Speedway Park with Night One winner Aaron Reutzel taking the preferred position up front for the next sixteen laps.
Swapping the lead for a single lap would find Caleb Saiz heading the field with Kaleb Montgomery maneuvering into the top spot in a flurry of on-track excitement as the laps began to tick away at a rapid rate with the leading pair separating from the rest of the field.
Setting up for late race dramatics while using patience and precision, tenth-starting Caleb Saiz would shoot back into the lead on the final lap to clinch the top spot to lead only a pair of laps in the thirty-five lap feature event and notch his league-leading sixth career POWRi Desert Wing Sprint feature victory as fifth-starting Kaleb Montgomery would finish in the runner-up position with Aaron Reutzel placing on the final podium placement from starting sixth.
