Patrick Bruns of Champaign IL. WINS the POWRi/ILLINI Feature Friday night in front of a full house.
Exciting POWRI D2 Midget Series racing was not to be missed at Lincoln on Friday night. 17 D2 racers took to the tricky quarter-mile oval to try and get top spots in the feature. It was a beautiful evening and a memorable event. For the 8th time this season, Patrick Bruns, driving his Mobil 1 Triple T Car Wash and Lube sponsored Boss Chassis-MWR powered Chevy Ecotec, took command and finished in first place.
In Victory Lane, Bruns, with his orange and white #10B winning ride, said that the track seemed prepared exceptionally well. He was also quick to thank his pit crew for working as hard as they do each week to get the superb results that keep coming to them. The 10B team can boast 16 POWRI D2 races run with 8 dominating trips to Victory Lanes! If winning another feature was not enough to celebrate, Patrick and wife Bonnie added another member to the Bruns pit crew. Daughter Amariah was born putting Patrick and family in their own Victory Circle!
In second spot was the quickly rising young star, Tyler Vantoll. Tyler is working his way through the POWRI ranks on his way up to the National Midget Series. Currently, Tyler is second in the points race to Bruns.
Running behind Vantoll was a familiar name to Illinois midget racing fans, Corey Weyandt charged hard for third.
Heat race winners were Corey Weyandt and Tyler Vantoll.
