Macon, IL – With three of five POWRi Illinois SPEED Week shows completed, Michael Pickens of Auckland, New Zealand leads the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League SPEED Week point standings by a mere 10 points over Keith Kunz Motorsports driver, Tanner Thorson. With two shows left, tonight’s Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois and tomorrow’s Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois, both tracks have unique characteristics that could change the outcome for the POWRi Illinois SPEED Week Championship.
After winning the opening night of POWRi Illinois SPEED Week at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois, Pickens has a second and third place finish under his cap bolstering him to the top position. Thorson however, has gone back to back, claiming the two most recent nights, night two and three, at Fairbury American Legion Speedway and Jacksonville Speedway, respectively.
