Belleville, IL – This Saturday, September 16th the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League will invade Southern Illinois Raceway for the second visit of 2017. But, new for 2017, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League will be making their debut at the high-banked 1/8th mile track. Known for their famed micro-sprint events such as the annual Highbanks Hustle, and the 66 in 2011 and 2012, Southern Illinois Raceway puts on some of the closest, all-out racing of the season.
Heading to Southern Illinois Raceway, second place Logan Seavey, the leading candidate for POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League Rookie of the Year, now looks to be a contender for the championship, after League points leader Zach Daum suffered three DNF’s in the last three events. Tucker Klaasmeyer holds third place with Jake Neuman and Spencer Bayston in tow. Andrew Felker is currently in sixth place with Friday night’s winner at Jacksonville, Tyler Thomas, in seventh. Ryan Robinson is in eighth with Aidan RoosEvans and Tanner Thorson rounding out the top ten.
In POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League standings, Joe B. Miller still holds the reigns with Kurt Westerfield moving into second followed by Friday night’s winner, Craig Ronk, in third. Luke Verardi is in fourth followed by Nathan Benson. Slater Helt holds sixth with Harley Hollan in seventh. Nick Howard holds eighth with Jackson Frisbie and Frank Flud rounding out the top ten.
