Belleville, IL - The 2018 POWRi Lucas Oil Division II Midget Series schedule has been released featuring 21 events. New for 2018, the POWRi Lucas Oil Division II Midget Series will co-sanction events with the Badger Midget Series at Sycamore Speedway and Angell Park Speedway. Engine rules have been aligned between the two series to allow a cohesive season.
The Division II Midgets will kick off 2018 with two shows at Sycamore Speedway in the month of May before their inaugural appearance at Angell Park Speedway. On May 20th, the POWRi Lucas Oil Division II Midgets head north for their first showing at Angell Park Speedway in the Season Opener – Sprint Spectacular.
In the month of June, the Division II Midgets will race six events, the first two coming on Saturday, June 2nd at Sycamore Speedway and Sunday, June 3rd at Angell Park Speedway. Three events come in Illinois SPEED Week, with an Angell Park Speedway visit on Sunday, June 17th for the Father’s Day Festival to conclude the month of June.
For the third consecutive year, the Division II Midgets will again be part of Illinois SPEED Week. Joining the League for the final three shows of SPEED Week, the Division II’s head to Jacksonville Speedway on Friday, June 8th for their furthest trip south, before Macon Speedway on Saturday, June 9th. Illinois SPEED Week concludes on Sunday, June 10th at Lincoln Speedway. 2018 will also mark the first appearance of the Badger Midget Series in Illinois SPEED Week.
July kicks off with a doubleheader weekend at Sycamore Speedway on Saturday July 7th, while Sunday, July 8th will be the 37th Annual Pepsi Nationals at Angell Park Speedway. The Pepsi Nationals has long been a crown jewel of midget racing, and the Division II midgets will be on the schedule with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League in addition to the Badger Midgets.
August is set to host four events, with one at Sycamore Speedway and three at Angell Park Speedway.
The POWRi Lucas Oil Division II Midget Series are slated to conclude 2018 at Angell Park Speedway on Sunday, September 2nd for the Kevin Doty Classic.
There will be a point fund for the POWRi D-II Midgets for 2018. In order to be eligible, you must be a POWRi D-II Midget Member.
