Belleville, IL – POWRi has released the rules for the POWRi Pavement Midget Series. Rules can be found on the POWRi website (www.powri.com) under the “Rules and Driver Info” tab. A downloadable PDF is under the “POWRi Rules Information” section.
To develop the pavement series, POWRi and Grundy Speedway need the support of all pavement midgets. The series will be setup as a “come one, come all” organization in order to bolster car counts in the initial phase. Look for the official schedule release in the next couple of weeks.
With the combination of production and non-production engines running at the same time, the goal is to equalize the several types of pavement midgets that will be competing together with the specific Hoosier tire compounds outlined in the rules. POWRi will monitor every race and adjust the rules if necessary to keep the cars as competitive with each other as possible.
The finalized payout will also be released within the next few weeks; officials are working with sponsors to develop larger payouts at marquee events. The purse structure will feature a progressive payout, ranging from $700 to $1500 to win in the initial phase of the series, with payouts increasing as the series grows.
A year-end point fund has been setup and a POWRi membership is required to compete for points and the championship point fund. POWRi and Grundy Speedway officials are confident in the direction this is going and appreciate all your support as the series moves forward.
