Belleville, IL – This weekend the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League look to the Midwest Season Opener. Friday, the Leagues head to Jacksonville Speedway to tackle America’s Baddest Bullring for night one of the Midwest Season Opener. Saturday, both Leagues head to Macon Speedway for some close-quarters racing on the high-banked fifth mile to round out the weekend.
In POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League competition, the weekend sweep trend looked to continue as Logan Seavey took the win at Valley Speedway in night one of the Annual Open Wheel Showdown weekend and carried momentum to Lucas Oil Speedway the next night. Seavey had a three-day sweep at Lucas Oil with the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League in 2017. However, Tanner Carrick was determined to get the win at Lucas Oil Speedway, leading all 30 laps in route to a career-first win with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League.
Quietly remaining consistent, Ryan Robinson leads the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League point standings, followed by Tucker Klaasmeyer. Zach Daum currently holds the third position in League standings.
In POWRi Speedway Motors 600c Outlaw Micro League competition, the micros have now had two weekends off and are ready to get back to action. The last outing for the POWRi Speedway Motors Micros was at Belle-Clair Speedway, where Joe B. Miller dominated the high-banked fifth mile. Carrying that momentum into this weekend, Miller is always tough to beat at Jacksonville Speedway and is determined as ever to build his lead in the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League standings. But, with tight standings, Harley Hollan sits in second, a mere 60 points behind Miller. Jordan Howell currently holds third, a razor-thin 10-point margin behind Hollan.
