Morris, IL – Saturday night Jimmy Anderson etched his name in the POWRi record books by winning the inaugural POWRi Lucas Oil Pavement Series race Presented by Heroes West in Morris, Illinois at Grundy County Speedway. Driving his Beast-Mopar, Anderson set quick time in qualifying and started on the pole for the feature event. Even though Anderson set a good pace, he was dogged by the Spike-Esslinger entry piloted by second place finisher, Bill Hulbert.
“This is so exciting to bring pavement racing back and have an organization like POWRi try and rebuild what we thought was gone forever,” said Jimmy. “There are a lot of pavement cars out there and this hopefully proved to all the teams and car owners that this is not going away.”
In what was an exciting debut for POWRi and the return of pavement midget racing to Grundy County Speedway, POWRi would like to give a special thanks to Grundy County Speedway especially Bob and Scott and all the sponsors and supporters who are giving pavement racing another opportunity.
The next event for the POWRi Lucas Oil Pavement Midget Series presented by Heroes West is Friday, June 29th at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois.
