HAUBSTADT, IN (June 15, 2018) - With this news release, the Tri-State Speedway management would like to announce a change to the 2018 racing schedule at the track. The POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint Car Series has accepted an offer to race at the Haubstadt oval on October 13, 2018. The agreement was reached in discussions to see if a rain date could be found for the “Summer Showdown” which was rained out on June 9th.
Rather than add a new date to a crowded calendar a previously scheduled race was chosen. It was decided that the POWRi WAR league would join with the MSCS Sprint Cars to compete at the “Harvest Cup.” This racing program on Saturday, October 13 will now become a co-sanctioned event. The 2018 “Harvest Cup” has a purse that pays $5,000 to win. This is the same as the “Summer Showdown” was to pay. This date already has a rain date set which is to be Sunday, October 14 if needed.
The showdown for the two series is on, but it will be in the fall. It will now conclude the season at Tri-State Speedway. Fans will be able to witness the added excitement expected as a broadened field of cars and drivers from across the Midwest battle to make this show.
