BELLEVILLE, ILL. (May 1, 2019) – Due to heavy rain throughout the week paired with a forecast expecting more showers, officials have made the call to cancel Friday’s event at Valley Speedway for the POWRi Lucas Oil National/West Midgets and the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League.
Saturday’s race at Lucas Oil Speedway is still on as scheduled and plans to proceed without a hitch. With a state-of-the-art facility that includes a phenomenal drainage system and paved pit area, the hard-working crew at Lucas Oil Speedway are confident Saturday’s open-wheel showdown will be unaffected by the weather.
Set to be a huge night, the Saturday, May 5 showing at Lucas Oil Speedway will feature the POWRi Lucas Oil National/West Midgets along with the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League and the Lucas Oil ASCS Warrior/Sooner Region Sprint Cars at the Wheatland, Missouri 3/8th-mile.
Although Friday’s cancellation at Valley continues the early-season blues against Mother Nature, POWRi officials are looking at adjusting the schedule in the latter half of the year to bring back to life several opportunities that were washed away early on.
