Belleville, IL – Due to the amount of rain received from severe storms over the previous week, the torrential downpours have forced track and series officials’ hands into cancelling the events at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex in Sweet Springs, Missouri.
“In light of the recent storms that have plagued the Midwest, more specifically the state of Missouri, we will be cancelling the events at Sweet Springs,” commented Jason McCord. “The track has received so much rain over the last few days, and the forecast is calling for additional rain with the potential for severe thunderstorms. So, with the best interests of our fans and competitors, we are really left with no choice but to cancel the event for everyone’s safety.
Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex President Paul Siegel, and the rest of the SSMC staff have been wonderful to work with. While we all really wanted to get this event in, we have already secured the 2020 date, again for Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23, 2020.”
As of this writing, the POWRi Lucas Oil National and West Midget Leagues are still slated to tackle Lake Ozark Speedway on Sunday, May 26th.
