INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (June 4, 2019) – With the removal of one race comes the addition of another to the 2019 schedule for the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League. The Friday, August 30 date that was rescheduled for Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois has been taken out, while the Sunday, June 16 slot has been filled with a special event (non-points) at Double-X Speedway in California, Missouri.
Although the August 30 event unfortunately did not pan out, the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League and Tri-City Speedway are still working together in 2019. The league will host their first-ever event at the Granite City 3/8th-mile on Friday, June 28, leading into a Saturday, June 29 trip to Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Illinois.
As for the newly-added special event (non-points) on Sunday, June 16, another date at Double-X Speedway gives racers and fans a thrilling close to home race. Set for the seventh appearance in WAR history at the California, Missouri quarter-mile, the will be the first time since 2012 that Double-X has hosted more than one WAR race in a season. Wesley Smith, who topped an exciting feature on May 26, enters as the defending Double-X winner.
Up next, however, is a different pair of Missouri venues as the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League ventures to Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo. on Friday, June 7 and Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. on Saturday, June 8.
