GRAIN VALLEY, MO. (July 11, 2019)– Joining the POWRi Lucas Oil National / West Midgets and the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micros, the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints have been added to the slate on Friday, July 12 at Valley Speedway, making the “Thunder in the Valley” opener a triple header of epic proportions.
Marking the first doubleheader of the season for the Midwest Lightning Sprints, Friday’s trip to Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo. will lead into Saturday’s race in Winston, Mo. at I-35 Raceway. Drivers will be battling it out for the Mid-Season Championship, which features a payout for the top 10 in points between the two nights at Valley and I-35.
Bobby Layne currently leads the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprint League standings with 1,036 points. Rounding out the top five and trailing Layne is Kyle Lewis (-102), Jeff Bard (-168), Kenny Bowers (-228) and Alex Davis (-276).
