Belleville, IL. (05/25/2020) One of the Kansas City area’s oldest racing sanctioning bodies, the POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints are set to start their 33rd year of competition in 2020. Kicking off the season Saturday, May 30th at I-35 Speedway in Winston Missouri, dedicated drivers will take to the track in hopes of winning the first point’s feature of the year.
Precautions are arranged following local and state regulations on social-distancing within the pits as well as the grandstands. I-35 Speedway’s Pit-Gates will open at 4:30 pm with the driver's meeting at 6:00 pm, at the POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints trailer. Hot-Laps begin at 6:30 pm and heat race action starting at 7:00 pm. Regular weekly classes are also scheduled to compete with general admission tickets available.
