Belleville, IL. (06/16/2020) The POWRI Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints would make their first trip of the year to the three-eighths of a mile Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota on Friday night with a return trip to the Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday night rounding out their weekend of racing excitement.
First up on Friday night at Red River Valley Speedway, Kelsi Pederson would dominate. Sweeping the night by winning her heat then onto claiming her very first feature win at the Speedway and second POWRi MKLS win on the year. Then, on Saturday night the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints headed back west to again take on Devils Lake Speedway as Alex Truscinski took the honors winning his second feature in as many weeks.
With six races in the books this season, three separate drivers have claimed two wins apiece as Kelsi Pederson, Alex Truscinski, and Dexter Dvergsten have all found victory lane. Pederson ranks atop the season standings with Alan Truscinski in the runner up position, proving consistency is key to championship quest only five points back. Dvergsten remains in the hunt only back one point from Alan, rounding out the point’s battle podium. Heading into the weekend the racing action will be heated as contenders try to separate themselves from the field in two features to try to gain those valued season points.
Friday, June 19th the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series will head to Grand Forks, North Dakota for the second series event at River Cities Speedway. The quarter-mile dirt track’s pit gates will open at 3 pm for drivers with racing set for 7 pm.
Then, on Saturday, June 20th the POWRi MKLS hauls back to the home track of Devil’s Lake Speedway. For the fifth time, this season drivers will compete for supremacy on the quarter-mile of Crary, ND. Pit’s open at 5:00 pm and racing at 7 pm.
