Belleville, IL. (06/22/2020) Venturing beyond their home-track for the first time in 2020, the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints would take a trip down to “The Lake” on Saturday, June 20th for an impressive open wheeling excitement.
Main event racing action at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday night for the POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints may have been one of the most entertaining and exciting Lightning Sprint races to hit the premier track. Early stages would see Jeff Bard and Chase Fischer swapping the lead in almost every corner, sometimes swapping positions back-and-forth on the same end of the track. Directly behind the two-frontrunners found Stanley Kreisel and Dan Hillberg doing the same thing for third and fourth, all while trying to find a way to gain the lead.
As the four front cars put on a thrilling driving show lap after lap. After a late-race caution would bunch the field back up the racing action would then turn into a two-car battle upfront. With both drivers who have earned MLS feature victories in 2020 vying for the prized position. Stanley Kreisel and Chase Fischer continued the wheel to wheel racing, swapping the lead back and forth for several revolutions around Lake Ozark Speedway. Eventually, Fischer would emerge the victor in a race that will be remembered. Kreisel would end the night in the runner-up position as Bard rounded out the podium.
