Belleville, IL. (07/16/2020) Continuing to branch out to new venues of competition for the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League, drivers will venture to Monett Motor Speedway in Monett, Missouri on Saturday, July 25th for the next event in the season-long quest for the championship.
So far in the eight-event season for the POWRi WAR championship, defending champion #91 Riley Kreisel has asserted his dominance leading the points by winning three straight features in June. Jack Wagner #77 keeps close in season standings with a pair of runner-up showings, only eighty points behind Kreisel. Samuel Wagner #73, Mario Clouser #6, and Wyatt Burks #11w round out the top five in the championship chase as the mid-season push for points are more prevalent for competitors heading into Monett on Saturday, July 25th.
Monett Motor Speedway, also known as “The Grand Ol’ Lady”, is a three-eighths-mile oval track with eleven-degree banking. Initially opening in 1970 and running every season since Monett will showcase the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League for the first time on Saturday, July 25th with regular weekly classes racing including the Credit Cars of NWA Pure Stocks, Don’s Auto Repair Midwest Modifieds, and Legends, Eric Norris State Farm Insurance B-Mods.
Pit-Gates open at 3:00 PM with grandstand general admission seating available at 5:45 PM. Driver’s Registration is scheduled between 3:00-5:30 PM, drivers meeting at the POWRi trailer at 6:00 PM with engine heat at 6:15 PM. Hot Laps begin at 6:45 PM, exciting racing action to follow.
