Belleville, IL. (07/28/2020) After a prolonged waiting period and many scheduling adjustments, POWRi Sprint Leagues from Arizona and New Mexico will now team together for a night of outstanding feature excitement on Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th. Alien Motor Speedway, in Roswell New Mexico, is proud to host the next big event in the always exciting and entertaining world of traditional sprint car racing. The POWRi Lucas Oil Border Tour Sprint Series and the POWRi Lucas Oil New Mexico Motors Racing Association will join forces as the tricky 3/8-mile track will try to test the driving limits of these non-wing warriors in a one-of-a-kind co-sanctioned event.
Marking the first event in the strange 2020 season the POWRi Lucas Oil Border Tour is eager to get the racing action shifted into high gear. The POWRi Lucas Oil New Mexico Motor Racing Association has completed one single event at Sandia Speedway on July, 18th with Caleb Saiz #99 gaining the feature win.
Classes scheduled for racing competition for both nights at Alien Motor Speedway include POWRi Non-Wing Sprint Leagues, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, Legend Cars, and WTR Street Stocks. Pits open at 4 PM, with general admission opening at 5 PM. Hot Laps are scheduled for 6:30 PM with great racing to follow. (All times are GMT) Pit passes are $35, Grandstand tickets for $15, only $10 for Youth (6-11), Kids five and under get in free. Race fans are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines and face-mask requirements.
Competitive non-wing action all comes to a head, with bragging rights and personal glory on the line, on August 7th and 8th at Alien Raceway. Who will emerge as the winner and earn the title as Top Traditional POWRi Sprinter of the Desert as the POWRi Border Tour and POWRi NMMRA battle it out for the top prize?
