Belleville, IL. (10/20/2020) After a valiant effort in 2019 with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League, Jake Neuman came up two spots short in the final championship standings. Neuman determined to make 2020 his year, the New Berlin, IL. native set one goal in mind; to win the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League Championship. With the conclusion of the 2020 season, Jake Neuman did just that and is officially your 2020 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League Champion.
The hot shoe out of Illinois set out on the tour with his family owned team behind him. The team headed out for the season opener in Grain Valley, MO. at the inaugural Mid-state Open Wheel Nationals. While a podium and a ninth-place finish were nothing too exciting for Neuman, it was all part of the plan to build up solid finishes and grab the championship.
“These last two races were the first races I used a provisional for all year, so we have been pretty good this year.”
After a few months of searching, Neuman found himself in victory lane at Macon Speedway in Macon MO. All-in-all, Neuman never gave up and had a total of 8 top five finishes and 18 top ten in 19 feature events. With a striking 620-point advantage over his long-time friend, and Ex-teammate, Ace McCarthy who finished second in season points.
