Central Missouri Speedway Hosts 2021 POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals

Central Missouri Speedway Hosts 2021 POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals

Belleville, IL. (10/29/2020) One of the fastest-growing divisions under the Performance Open Wheel Racing Incorporated umbrella the always exciting Lightning Sprints will once again get their chance in the spotlight. Memorial Day Weekend 2021 with mark the return of the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals at picturesque Central Missouri Speedway.

Conveniently located in Warrensburg Missouri, the beautifully kept and well-ran quarter-mile Central Missouri Speedway will host Lightning Sprinters from around the United States and Canada when POWRi Leagues from near-and-far flock to the Midwest in hopes of racing hierarchy. With two separate dates of racing, drivers and fans alike will not want to miss out on this excitement-laden event.

Saturday, May 29th will pay feature starting money with an added payout on the line throughout the field. Then on Sunday, May 30th feature starters will earn $250 with the winner gaining a $1500 top-prize. The two-day purse will also include additional incentives for competitors such as non-transferring payouts and heat-race winning bonuses. Drivers who finish First and Second in Saturday’s event are guaranteed a starting spot in Sunday’s Main Event, if unable to qualify for day two’s feature. An optional make-up date for Monday, May 31st has been tentatively scheduled, as necessary.

After a successful event at Lake Ozark Speedway in 2019, the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals would be stricken from the scheduling at Belle-Clair Speedway in 2020 due to Covid-19 regulations making the return in 2021 even more highly anticipated. Central Missouri Speedway aims to get the action back on track as drivers prepare for this one-of-a-kind weekend.

Currently, Ohio-wheelman Brad Strunk remains the POWRi National Lighting Sprint Champion since earning the honors on Championship Night in 2019 at Lake Ozark Speedway in an action-packed weekend of racing. Witnessing Californian Grant Sexton gain the glory on the first night of racing, Strunk was able to earn the highly coveted victory on night two and hold the honor ever-since.

With additional POWRi Lightning Sprint Leagues growing exponentially over the previous seasons can Strunk return to defend his throne as “King of the Lightning Sprints”? Can the Champion of the Southwest and Rocky Mountain’s Chris Crowder earn yet another title to his illustrious career? Maybe Dexter Dvergsten from Minn-Kota can include National Champion to his list of career accomplishments? Will the home field advantage of hosting Midwest Lighting Sprint Champion Stanley Kreisel come into play? Or perhaps POWRi will see a visitor from the north like Canadian talent Tomy Moreau take the top honors back across the northern border? Find out at CMS, Memorial Weekend 2021 at the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals.

Mark the calendars now for this outstanding two-day event May 29-30, at Central Missouri Speedway. Additional information for the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals on May 29-30 at Central Missouri Speedway will be released as details unfold.

POWRi Lightning Sprint Officials and Central Missouri Speedway Management are excited about this outstanding event and greatly encourage competitors and crews to read all guidelines and general information regarding the program.
