Belleville, IL. (11/13/2020) Offering annual quarter-midget family fun, the usually good weather the POWRi Silver State Winter Nationals will once again grace the makeshift racing surfaces of The Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada for three days of racing excitement November 25-27 with the entire program available on POWRi TV.
With registrations open for the previous month, numbers are consistent with previous years anticipating a field of over 300 quarter-midget competitors flocking to the POWRi Silver State Winter Nationals. Presenting no home-track or racing club advantage the one-of-a-kind race venue just off the Vegas-strip will offer competitors, ranging in ages five to seventeen, from all over a chance to claim on-track supremacy in one of the biggest racing events of the year.
Trailer move-in day, car-safety inspections, Sign-In, and Pill Draw are all set for Monday, November 23rd. Parking will begin at 7:00 AM with car-safety inspections scheduled 11:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Sign-In Registrations and Pill-Draw will be open 11:00 AM-5:00 PM for competitors.
Tuesday, November 24th will have Trailer Parking again beginning at 7:00 AM, Car-Safety Inspection 7:30 AM-12:00 PM, Driver Sign-In/Pill Draw 7:30 AM-12:00 PM. Official Sign-In ends precisely at 12:15 PM. Pit Meeting will be held at 9:00 AM with a full day of practice afterward. Starting at 9:30 AM drivers will be allowed a pair of three-minute rounds with time permitting. Practice will be available for free to view on POWRi TV.
Racing action for the POWRi Silver State Winter Nationals begins Wednesday, November 25th first with a pit-meeting scheduled for 8:00 AM, then heat races hit the track at 8:30 AM; Lower-Mains may be run with time permitting. Lower-Main Feature action resumes on Thursday, November 26th with the Pit-meeting slated for 8:00 AM, cars to the track at 8:30 AM. Wrapping up the annual event on Friday, November 27th, pit-meeting at 8:00 AM and Feature Action starting at 8:30 AM. Post-Tech Inspections will immediately follow feature racing with the awards ceremony finalizing the event. Saturday, November 28th will serve as a make-up rain date if necessary. No general admission spectators will be allowed; however, every lap of the competition will be available for viewing only on POWRi TV for $19.95/day.
As Covid-19 restrictions continue to evolve around the country, certain guidelines for the POWRi Silver State Winter Nationals have been mandated including; Masks are Mandatory everywhere except at the entrant’s personal trailer with social distancing required. Daily temperature checks will occur for entrance, limitations of six people per entrant permitted. Trailers will be allowed to have multiple entrants as there is a limit of 100 trailer spots available. A color-coded wrist-band system for competitors, pit-members, and officials will be in effect to avoid outside entry and minimize pit-congestion.
