Eldon, MO. (02/9/2021) Memorial Weekend at “The Lake” will receive a boost of adrenaline in 2021 with the Inaugural running of the Lake Ozark Speedway Memorial Weekend Sprint and Midget Nationals presented by The Drivers Project. Featuring the exciting racing action of the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour and the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League with a guaranteed purse above $70,000 on the line over the three-day event.
Kicking off the Inaugural Lake Ozark Speedway Memorial Weekend Sprint and Midget Nationals presented by The Drivers Project will be the practice date of Friday, May 28th beginning at 7:00 PM.
The Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour will be running a time-trial format in both nights of racing action, Saturday’s feature event is slated for a thirty-lap shootout as Sunday’s main event will be increased to forty heart-pounding laps with Sunday nights feature paying $10,000 to win.
Both Saturday, May 29th and Sunday, May 30th POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League feature events will be thirty thrilling laps of action with Sunday’s top prize of $5,000 on the line to the winner. “In an effort to run a more exciting and efficient show for the race fans, there will be no support classes running with an emphasis on not running late into the night”, Peter Turford of The Drivers Project stated. Turford would go on to add, “This is a great opportunity to partner with a premier facility, offering a huge racing weekend with top-paying prizes. We are really pleased we could all come together to make this event happen.”
Exciting new additions to Lake Ozark Speedway in 2021 will help to ramp-up the excitement of race season with the construction of the Luxury Suites standing above the grandstands off turn-four. Along with the available 5,000 grandstand seats, additions to our sound system that reaches the front stretch, backstretch, and pit area, TV-quality MUSCO lighting on the one-third-mile banked clay oval, remodeled full concession area, full LOS Bar area, large and clean restrooms in three locations throughout the facility, children’s playground, handicap parking and seating, motorcycle parking, closed-circuit TV in several areas of the facility along with electronic timing and scoring boasting a twenty-position scoreboard.
