Belleville, IL. (05/9/2021) Visiting the quick lap times of El Paso County Raceway for the first time this season, the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints would overrun Calhan Colorado for a great night of racing action. Fresh of the season-opening victory, Johnny Boos continues to show his dominance gaining his second-strait series feature win.
With a solid showing of POWRi RMLS drivers checking into the pits of El Paso County Raceway, a pair of heat races were needed to help set the field for the feature event with Blair Cooper and Johnny Boos gaining the early on-track advantages.
Pacing the field of RMLS competitors to the initial green flag, Johnny Boos would flex his lightning sprinting might by nabbing the lead early from fellow front-row driver Blair Cooper. Boos would run a near-perfect race throughout, spacing himself from all other drivers on his way to claiming his series-leading sixteenth career POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprint feature victory.
Blair Cooper and the fourth-starting Frank Martinez would find themselves in quite the contest for the runner-up position as Martinez was able to secure the position late with Cooper rounding out the podium placing. Steve Becker would show speed all evening placing fourth as Jenn Woods finished fifth on the POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprint feature event at El Paso County Raceway.
