Belleville, IL. (05/10/2021) Raring to get the 2021 racing season underway the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprinters would finally get their chance for on-track excitement at Devils Lake Speedway in Crary, North Dakota. Fresh off a 2020 MKLS Points Championship, Dexter Dvergsten would not waste any time backing up last year’s performances with an early trip to victory lane winning the season opener.
With a solid field of Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota lightning Sprint competitors checking into the pits at Devils Lake Speedway, early on-track action would see Alex Truscinski and Garrison Miller gain their heat racing victories. As an all-Truscinski front-row lead the pack of racers to the initial green-flag start with Alex on the pole and his father Alan on the outside, the battles burst open all over the speedy raceway.
In a show of poise and consistent lap-times, Dexter Dvergsten would launch to the lead of the field from a third starting spot never to let up in a dominating show of driving. With Dvergsten claiming his ninth series victory, Kelsi Pederson would race her way to an outstanding runner-up finish as front-running Alan Truscinski placed third. Flying through the field in style, gaining thirteen spots on the night, Weston Olson placed fourth with Patrick Brejcha rounding out the features top-five finisher at Devils Lake Speedway with the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints.

Kicking off on Friday, May 21st at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks North Dakota. Then, onto Greenbush, Minnesota’s Greenbush Race Park on Saturday, May 22nd, and finalizing the weekend at the newly re-opened Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minnesota on Sunday, May 23rd.
