Belleville, IL. (05/30/2021) With Lightning Sprint drivers proudly representing their regions for the Third Annual POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals at Central Missouri Speedway, a phenomenal field of forty competitors all trying to claim championship night. As the final checkers waived on a great thirty-lap feature event, Chris Crowder of Colorado would find victory lane on a national level.
Side-by-side heat racing action would witness Alan Truscinski, Josiah King, Dakota Dillon, Brendon Cascadden, and Grant Sexton all claim early wins with Johnny Boos and Jaylon Mills each grabbing semi-feature wins. Championship Night of the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals would find high-point qualifier and pole-sitter Scott Kinney flanked to his outside by Dakota Dillon on the initial green flag start.
Flying to the initial start would see the low line carry the momentum to the front as Kinney was able to pull out the early lead. With Dillon in hot pursuit of the leader Kinney and the second-row starting competitors of Grant Sexton and Brendon Cascadden breathing down the front-two drivers, outstanding action would erupt all over the expertly prepared facility of Central Missouri Speedway.
As Kinney continued to lead, the Colorado Open-Wheeler Chris Crowder would mount a charge to the front from his sixth starting position. Kinney would appear to be the driver to beat leading the first twenty-three laps of the thirty-lap event. Using a perfect passing line, Crowder would drive his way past the fast Kinney on lap twenty-four never to relinquish the preferred position.
Sticking close Crowder, Kinney would finish in a close second, with the Lakeside California driver Grant Sexton finishing third. Brendon Cascadden would place fourth as Alan Truscinski rounded out the top-five finishers in Championship Night of the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals.
