Belleville, IL. (07/25/2021) With a little less than a month removed from racing action, the Lucas Oil POWRi Vado Super Sprints would attack the smooth racing surfaces of Vado Speedway Park producing outstanding 305-Winged Sprint Car feature racing. Grabbing the lead mid-race, Mike Archuletta would earn the night’s honors notching his first series win since 2019.
Early heat racing battles would find Mike Archuletta and Dylan Harris earning wins with Justin Lasiter and Archuletta gaining front-row starting spots for the twenty-five-lap main event. Rolling out as the third race of an action-packed event, the POWRi Vado Super Sprints would take a bit to initially get going with three cautions on the opening lap.
Once initial issues were remedied Dylan Harris would shoot out front and set a blistering pace in the lead, while Mike Archuleta, Justin Lasiter, and Jesse Baker were in a tussle for the runner-up spot. Harris was dominant out front, while Vance Wofford, who started 12th, was working his way into the battling top-five.
While out front Harris would misjudge dealing with lap competitors, spinning himself to avoid contact and sending the quick leader to the tail, and giving Mike Archuletta the lead. Once leading, Mike would take off and hold other drivers at bay to earn his first win series win since 2019.
Vance Wofford would fly from mid-pack to finish in a close runner-up placement grabbing the night’s hard charger award surpassing ten drivers. Lorne Wofford podium honors with a third as Jett Carnet, who was forced to start twentieth after a second push-start on the parade lap, fought back to place fourth with Royal Jones rounding out the top-five finishers for the Lucas Oil POWRi Vado Super Sprints.
