Belleville, IL. (07/26/2021) Running a trio of events over the weekend, the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints would get ample track opportunities to fine-tune their machines with great action aplenty. Dexter Dvergsten would continue to add to his amazing all-time win count by not only earning the checkers in the make-up feature at Red River Valley Speedway but would nab his eighteenth feature win of the past two seasons in that night’s main event. Traveling open-wheeling great Chris Crowder would prove why he is the reigning POWRi National Champion by grabbing his first career MKLS feature win at Buffalo River Speedway.
Red River Valley Speedway would run the June 4th POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint feature to start the night with Alex Truscinski and Bryce Haugeberg gaining heat racing wins. Going green flag feature racing would find pole-sitter Dexter Dvergsten fly to the early lead, never letting up to earn the feature win. Truscinski would battle from a fifth starting spot to earn runner-up position as Travis Surerus rounded out the June 4th make-up feature event podium finishers.
Later in the evening at the speedy three-tenths-mile bullring with the POWRi MKLS, Chris Crowder would roll into the region grabbing a heat race victory with Mark Williams also earning an early on-track win. Front-row starters for the feature Alex Truscinski and Dexter Dvergsten would establish themselves as the drivers to beat on the smooth racing surfaces. Dvergsten would again flex his driving might by claiming his tenth feature win in the POWRi MKLS season. Truscinski would hold on to finish runner-up for the second straight race as Crowder would race from starting fourth to rounding out the podium placement.
Knocking off any travel lag, Chris Crowder would make the journey from Colorado successful at Buffalo River Speedway by gaining a heat racing victory, only to endure a re-draw for the feature line-up. Racing from fifth Crowder would run down the early leader, and fellow heat race winner, Kelsi Pederson to battle intensely for the preferred position. Crowder would gain the top spot on the evening with six-starting Alex Truscinski notching a trio of runners-up placements on the weekend.
