Belleville, IL. (8/22/2021) Featuring a double-header weekend of racing excitement on tap at the reopened Aztec Speedway, the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series would put on a spectacle of elbows-up driving with first-time winners and new track records established. Racing to the front of the field on Friday night would witness Wes Wofford earn his first series victory as Rick Ziehl would once again visit victory lane on Saturday night setting the track record with a 12.951-second lap-time and an average speed of 97 MPH during the feature event.

With Josh Grady leading the ack of hungry 360s to the initial green-flag start, third-starting Wes Wofford would not waste any time establishing himself as the driver to beat.
Separating from other competitors, Wes Wofford would earn his first series victory as the always present Rick Ziehl would place runner-up with Vance Wofford placing third. Caleb Saiz and Chris Bonneau would find themselves in quite the contention for the position with Saiz earning fourth, leaving Bonneau to round out the top-five for the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series in night one at Aztec Speedway.
Returning for more action the very next night at Aztec Speedway, the POWRi DWSS would once again fly onto the smooth surface with outstanding open-wheel action ramping up the excitement in the fan-packed venue. Early on-track battles would find Rick Ziehl, Lorne Wofford, and Jesse Baker earning heat racing wins.
From runner-up on Night One to posting the track record for speed on Night Two, Rick Ziehl would be in a class of his own on Saturday Night by notching his second career series victory. Ziehl would start outside row one to slingshot to the front and never look back on way to victory lane with Lorne Wofford earning a respectable runner-up. Chris Bonneau would improve two positions over the two days of racing by placing third with Jesse Baker placing fourth.
